An Illustrated Lecture by Brittany Nicole Cox, Antiquarian Horologist

The Society for the Diffusion of Useful Information, Museum of Jurassic Technology & The Velaslavasay Panorama welcome an illustrated lecture by Brittany Nicole Cox on her work as an antiquarian horologist. The lecture will explore different facets of her trade, from magic and automata to philosopher kings, while sharing unique insight into the objects with which she works.

Brittany Nicole Cox's lifelong passion for horology has seen her through nine years in higher education where she earned her WOSTEP, CW21, and SAWTA watchmaking certifications, two clockmaking certifications, and a Masters in the Conservation of Clocks and Related Dynamic Objects from West Dean College, UK. In 2015 she opened Memoria Technica, an independent workshop where she teaches, practices guilloché, and specializes in the conservation of automata, mechanical magic, mechanical music, and complicated clocks and watches.

 

This event is presented by the Museum of Jurassic Technology.
