The mountain, the water and the stone constitute a wonderful picture, as if it were a painting -
I am completely infatuated.

-The Stone King

The Velaslavasay Panorama welcomes our newest exhibit, Shi Yun Zhi Heng: 12 Interesting Stones, which will be on view in our Ancillary Salon room from February 12th to April 18th, 2010 during our regular open hours. The presented stones and stories are from the collection of the Stone King, Mr. Rich Wang.

The tradition of Chinese Scholars' Rocks dates back to the medieval Song Dynasty, when stones which resembled mythological and famous mountains were first made the focus of religious and philosophical contemplation. Join us also in welcoming The Stone King on Sunday, March 7th, who will be here to showcase additional stones from his collection. There will be tea in the garden, and the opportunity to take home a stone of your own!

The Velaslavasay Panorama is open to the public weekly Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon until 6pm. Ticketed entrance to our exhibits and garden is complimentary with all donations to benefit the future existence of The Velaslavasay Panorama. Shi Yun Zhi Heng: 12 Interesting Stones has been funded in part by the Department of Cultural Affairs of the City of Los Angeles and the Velaslavasay Panorama Enthusiast Society. Greatest Thanks to Rich Wang, Freeman Wang and The Chinese American Viewing Stone Association.
