AUTUMNAL GREETINGS
~ from The Velaslavasay Panorama ~
Bravo to all who attended The Last Arctic Show and to our performers for lending their many talents and singularities. As a last gasp, the Effulgence of the North will emerge once more from behind the curtain to sing her swan song, a four-day serenade. Catch her as she re-surfaces from the depths one last time before melting under ‘til the next icing over!

CommonFieldConvening

We invite you to take part in the Common Field Convening, a national gathering of experimental visual arts organizations and organizers from November 2 to 5 in Los Angeles at the Japanese American Cultural Community Center and a constellation of sites across the city.

Common Field’s Convening is an itinerant annual gathering that brings together 350+ local and national organizers to explore the state of the field of arts organizing and to share resources, knowledge, and methods for artist-led, artist-run, and artist-centered projects, spaces, and practices.

As an Affiliate Partner of the Convening and Member of Common Field, The Velaslavasay Panorama will be hosting (for registered participants) the Convening of the Spirits on the evening of November 3, joined by Visions of Velaslavasay Past: Dear Object (Jordan Biren & Ursula Brookbank), Musician Kelly Marie Martin, and Magician Laureate of the Velaslavasay - Christopher Wonder.

Tickets for the 2017 Common Field Convening are available here.

As of the departure of this email, The Shengjing Panorama Fund has reached $13,904.98 of its $48,888 goal all through individual donations and proceeds from The Last Arctic Show!

Shengjing Fund Thermometer 10-24-17

$48,888 is the crucial minimum budget needed in order to raise Shengjing Panorama out of its wooden crate and into 360-degrees. We aim to raise this amount by the end of January 2018 to allow The Velaslavasay Panorama to re-open in a timely and rent-efficient fashion.

You can join our efforts by donating here.

Any amount helps us get closer to preserving and creating history! All contributions will be acknowledged as part of the exhibition’s debut and future programming. We will be sending out a more detailed update with full budgetary breakdown soon.

Thank you kindly for your invaluable attention,
The Velaslavasay Panorama
