Les Sewing Sisters (Lun*na Menoh & Saori Mitome) play sounds from sewing machines recorded and electronically filtered with lyrics on the nature of making clothing, sewing, and designing costumes. This Record Read-lease Party will showcase spoken-word iterations of Les Sewing Sisters songs to highlight the sewing-filled lyrics.
Followed by a screening of the film Les Sewing Sisters Home Tour, directed by Jeff Mizushia. Made during the pandemic, Les Sewing Sisters traveled to many closets around Los Angeles to perform for and in front of people’s clothes.
